Cheat sheet for newly-licensed jumpers living in Asia and looking to buy their first rig.
Since my home DZ in Thailand is temporarily closed, I spent the Easter weekend at Skydive Dubai Desert Campus with a bunch of similarly “homeless” Singaporean jumpers.
Skydiving on your bucket list? There are no words that can describe the wonder of your very first skydive. Here are some first-timer FAQs, and a list of where to skydive in and around Asia..
Jump #237: My FIRST cutaway.
20+ Singaporean skydivers invade the sleepy town of Jurien Bay in March 2017. A very humbling experience for me, flying with pro flyers, and in challenging wind conditions. A good wake up call to my 100 jump wonder-ness.
Kind of a tandem factory, but also the only full-time DZ in Southeast Asia (unless you have more than 500 jumps), so you’ll still find fun jumpers here. H8ers gonna h8, but there are loads all day, and it’s less than an hour’s drive from Bangkok. Also, USD1 beers, so who’s complaining?!
A last minute trip to deliver my rig to the buyer, so 顺便跳一跳 😉 Having just come back from Dubai and Perth, jumping in Thailand was triply sweet- cheap beer trumps all.
